How to apply gel eyeliner

As demonstrated, Skyliner Automatic Gel Eyeliner is ideal for a variety of eye shapes and makeup looks. Available in three shades – Jet Black, Tan Line, and Napa Nights – this no-tug pencil can be used to create a sleek wing, applied for a casual daytime look, or blended into a sultry smokey eye.

Gel eyeliner is a lot more forgiving than liquid formulas, and a lot easier to apply with its glide-on action. This makes it perfect for women on the go. How you apply your liner depends on the look you're going for, as well as the shape of your eyes. You can elongate round eyes by ending the line with a slight upward flick; lift down-turned eyes by starting the liner at the highest point of your upper lid arch and leaving the lower lash bare; and open up hooded eyes by applying a thick line as close to the base of the lashes as possible.

To apply, tilt your chin slightly up, gaze down into a mirror, and hold the pencil at the end, gliding from the inner corner of the eye to the outer. Sweep a single solid line if you have a steady hand, or draw short dashes along the lid if that's easier. For a smokey effect, use an eyeshadow brush to smudge along the upper and lower lids, or blend over the entire eyelid to use as an eyeshadow.
